STRAPPED broke a step slow, tucked into the two path early on the first turn, was urged along at the rear on the backstretch, chased while hard ridden in the four path on the far turn, gained in the six path into upper stretch, made a bid under a left-handed crop inside the three-sixteenths pole, dueled with the runner-up while rubbing saddles and being carried well out in the drive and proved best under strong handling. LEADING CONTENDER went hustled straight to the front, dropped from the two path to the rail early on the first turn, showed the way off the inside on the backstretch, vied in the two path on the far turn, was given his cue at the three-eighths pole, spun into the stretch in the four path under pressure, began to drift out under a left-handed crop at the three-sixteenths pole, brushed with the winner near the furlong marker then dueled while continuing to drift out significantly and was overtaken while clear for second. RUNGIUS was hustled from the gate, dropped from the three path to the two path early on the first turn, prompted the pace on the outside on the backstretch, came under urging outside the half-mile pole, vied in the three path on the far turn, dropped back in the five path into upper stretch, moved out behind the top two around the furlong marker and weakened.
