Footnotes
SPOKEN BLUNTLY contested the pace on the outside, moved to a solo lead passing the seven-sixteenths pole, vied in the two path early on the turn then dropped a bit closer to the rail, responded well when asked for his best in upper stretch and held under steady urging. KING COVEE was bumped in the hindquarters after the start, raced near the middle of the field under some restraint, was roused in the three path on the turn, chased the winner outside in the stretch and willingly earned the place. MY LIFE STORY bumped with a rival at the start, settled off the pace, saved ground on the turn, moved out in upper stretch and just got up for the show. MASTER FREUD settled off the pace, went around the turn in the two then three path, spun into the stretch in the four path then moved further out and improved to just miss the show. UNBROKEN CHAIN chased the pace, rounded the turn in the path, pursued the winner between horses into the final furlong, steadied outside the sixteenth-pole and weakened. READY SET TWIRL bumped with an opponent at the start, disputed the pace on the inside of a foe, dropped back at the seven-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the turn, chased the winner under a drive in the stretch and lacked the needed kick. KICK A BUCK was urged along on the outside, traveled around the turn in the four path, turned into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed response. AWESOME EMPIRE bumped very hard with a rival just after the start and was taken in hand then dropped back, went around the turn in the two path and was no factor. TAPWRITS TEMPER stumbled at the start then bumped very hard with a foe, bumped with another rival shortly thereafter then checked while pinched back between horses, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten.
