TRUE CONNECTION prompted the pace on the outside of the leader, took the advantage outside the five-eighths pole then moved clear, controlled the action in the two path, came out while roused into upper stretch, responded well when put to the crop outside the furlong marker and proved much the best under strong urging. SEQUENTIAL stalked the pace on the outside, chased in the three path on for most of the turn then moved to the four path, floated into the six path into the stretch then drifted further out, pursued the winner to the finish and willingly secured the place. BELMONT UNION broke in and was off slow, raced at the rear, dropped from the two path to the rail on the turn, came out to the six path into upper stretch, moved in entering the final furlong and safely secured the show. BATTLE ANTHEM moved out while going to the front, lost the advantage outside the five-eighths pole then dropped back, chased inside on the turn and tired. DOWN THE LINE settled off the pace, raced in the three path while roused on the turn, was carried out to the six path into upper stretch and came up empty. LAIRD OF MAGNOLIA was hustled from the gate, settled on the outside, was roused in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the six path and had nothing left. LIMITS OF POWER settled towards the back, was hard ridden passing the nine-sixteenths pole, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn and faltered. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
