Footnotes
SPICED UP was well placed just off the pace, traveled around the turn in the two path, gained into upper stretch then made an outside bid, took over outside the furlong marker, shook clear under the crop outside the sixteenth-pole and proved best while eased up in the final strides. CUANDO was hustled to the front, set the pace under pressure to his outside, shook clear along the rail early on the turn, was asked inside the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner outside the furlong marker and was outfinished while clear for the place. SNARE brushed with a rival at the start, settled well off the pace under some urging, saved ground on the turn, shifted to the three path at the quarter-pole and improved to just get the show. NOGUCHI bumped with a foe at the start, settled off the pace, was roused in the three path on the turn then turned into the stretch in the four path and lacked the needed response. HOT LEAD (GB) broke in then brushed with a foe while off a step slow then was taken up when an opponent drifted in front, spotted the front several lengths, moved from the two path to the three path on the turn, swung out to the six path at the quarter-pole and gained but failed to threaten. PRIVATE FLIGHT bumped with a foe at the start, was urged along on the outside, went around the turn in the four path, was driven into the stretch in the five path and failed to rally. DISCOTHEQUE broke a bit awkwardly but towards the front, was forwardly placed on the outside, chased in the three path on the turn and tired. GOT STRIPES moved in while ridden along near the middle of the field, saved ground on the turn and came up empty. RED MILLER drifted in at the start, was urged along near the back, rounded the turn in the two path, spun into the stretch in the three path and was no factor. BENNY THE WAITER (IRE) was hustled from the gate, angled in while showing speed then pressed the pace on the outside, chased in the two path on the turn, dropped back fast near the five-sixteenths pole and retreated.
