DIAMONDINTHESAND moved up in the four path on the first turn, advanced to prompt the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the far turn, took a short lead outside the quarter-pole, lost the advantage back to the pacesetter in upper stretch and tired. VIRTUAL moved in early, tugged on the bit while a bit keen before the first turn, raced in the two path on that bend, was rated just off the pace, came under urging while moving from the two path to the three path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the four path and failed to respond.
