COME RAIN OR SHINE got bumped at the start by LAIRD OF MAGNOLIA due to pressure from MAJORCA breaking inwards, settled along the inside in mid pack early on and then just off the inside through the first turn before tipping three to four paths off the rail down the backstretch, went three wide through the far turn coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong in tandem with THE HERO CODE and seized command a sixteenth out, then inched away to the finish. THE HERO CODE settled two to three wide in pursuit from mid pack, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick closing on the leader in concert with with the aforementioned foe and was along clear of the rest for the place honors. SKI BUM tracked the leader in closest aim along the inside early on and then two to three wide thereafter, bid for command three furlongs out and took it inside that station, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, edged clear under a drive to the eighth pole, dug in under threat from a pair and was caught a sixteenth out, ran on to just preserve the show honors on the wire over a rival, then got vetted and treated for heat being cooled down after returning and walked off under his own power. LAIRD OF MAGNOLIA got bumped at the start by MAJORCA breaking inwards and was forced to steady bumping COME RAIN OR SHINE, raced just off the inside through the first turn and then four to five paths off the rail and in the clear down the backstretch, bid three furlongs out and advanced outside rivals through the latter portion of the turn, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, kept on to the finish and just missed for the show honors. MAJORCA broke in at the start bumping LAIRD OF MAGNOLIA into COME RAIN OR SHINE, chased along the inside and then just off the inside coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, stayed on one paced to the finish. MCHALE two to three wide in pursuit, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, took the inside route into upper stretch and stayed on one paced through to the wire. NILRUC got bumped at the start by MY MAN MAGOO due to pressure from DAW SAMAA, saved ground in pursuit from mid pack, came under a ride at the three-eighths, swung five to six wide into upper stretch and offered no rally. BOBBY BOB three wide through the first turn, chased three to four wide under urging from the three-eighths marker, went seven wide into upper stretch, offered no response. GOOD AS HE GETS just off the inside through the first turn, chased three then to wide under urging from the three-eighths pole, went five to six wide into upper stretch and tired. MY MAN MAGOO got bumped at the start by DAW SAMAA and in turn bumped NILRUC, chased just off the inside and then along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, angled three to four wide at the top of the stretch and made no impact. DAW SAMAA broke in at the start bumping MY MAN MAGOO into NILRUC, showed the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside coming under coaxing near the three-eighths under threat, yielded the front inside that station and faded with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route at the quarter pole and folded in the stretch.
