Footnotes
SIDE STREET stumbled at the start and was off a bit slow, moved up under urging to dispute the early pace in the three path, followed the solo leader down the stretch for the first time, tracked that foe in the two path, gained to make a bid with three furlongs to run, took a short lead at the quarter-pole, responded well under the crop in the stretch and held gamely. VINTAGE VINO was hustled from the gate then taken in hand early, saved ground while reserved off the pace, was coaxed along late on the backstretch, went around the final turn in the two path, raced at the back while behind horses late on that bend, came three wide into the stretch, angled out while asked for his best inside the three-sixteenths pole, rallied outside in the final furlong and finished with good energy to just get the place. DE LA CRUZ settled on the inside, was asked on the final turn, moved out in upper stretch, chased the winner into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth and just missed the place but earned the show while brushing with a foe near the finish. STOP THE PRESS vied in the two path while between horses for most of the first turn, moved clear after turning into the stretch for the first time, showed the way on the inside, was held together while under heavy threat on the final turn, lost the lead at the quarter-pole, fought on well in the drive and just missed the trifecta. FACTOR ANALYSIS settled in the two path, was asked in the three path on the final turn, chased the leaders into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth, brushed with a foe near the finish and just missed the superfecta. FLICKER (GB) settled on the outside in the three path, was asked in the four path on the final turn, turned into upper stretch in the five path and came up empty.
