Footnotes
MIDNIGHT CONCERTO bumped with opponents at the start, was reserved well back on the inside, saved ground while patiently handled on the far turn, was roused while cutting the corner into the stretch, moved out outside the furlong marker and closed strongly to win going away. RED BURGUNDY raced in the two path on the first turn, followed the solo leader from second, chased in the two path on the far turn, gained the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, led until near the sixteenth-pole then was overtaken while able to get the place. BOBBY M'S GIRL saved ground on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, moved from the two path to the four path on the far turn, came five wide into the stretch and improved for the show. BERTRILLE brushed with a foe at the start, went two to three wide on the turns, moved out in upper stretch and improved position without threatening. HIGHWAY HARMONY broke out and bumped with a rival, went to the front, showed the way on the inside, was roused near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch, lost the advantage outside the furlong marker and gave way. ISLAND FOX went three to four wide on the turns and lacked the needed response. FROM HELLO was restless in the gate then off a step slow, tossed his head while rank in the opening quarter-mile, saved ground on the first turn, settled more kindly on the backstretch, moved from the rail to the two path early on the far turn and was no factor. LADY JASMINE went three wide on the first turn, settled in third position, was asked three wide on the far turn, remained on her inside lead in the stretch and came up empty. ALETTE D'ORO went three wide on the first turn, settled off the pace, saved ground on the far turn and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off. ALLEY'S SONG was restless in the gate, bumped with foes at the start, lost action badly nearing the first turn and slipped in the hindquarters then unseated the rider.
