EL GRANDE O settled off the pace, saved ground on the turn, moved out while put to a drive in upper stretch, chased the runner-up while drifting out some into the final furlong, gained to make a bid into the final sixteenth and got up to prevail. TOXIC GRAY was hustled from the gate, angled in while going to the front, controlled the action while two path to the inside on the turn, was asked for his best in upper stretch, came under the crop nearing the furlong marker, led into the final sixteenth but was caught while clear for the place. CLASSIFY angled out early then was coaxed along on the outside, chased in the five path on the turn, dropped to the four path at the quarter-pole, pursued the top two into the final furlong and weakened while able to get the show. DAUFUSKIE ISLAND was hustled from the gate, moved in while showing speed then switched outside the leader, chased on the outside, went around the turn in the three path, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. FORREST CITY moved out early then was urged along towards the back, raced in the three path on the turn and was no factor. FOR SOME REASON chased the pace on the outside then in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five patch and capitulated. REGISTER was urged along off the pace, traveled around the turn in the two path and failed to respond. LEDDY was slow into stride, moved out early then dropped well behind while well out in the track, moved in leaving the backstretch and was no factor.
