Footnotes
HOURS IN A DAY showed speed from the gate, raced in the two path while between horses on the first turn, contested the pace on the inside of a foe for most of the backstretch, was urged along while inside on the far turn, dueled with the runner-up in the stretch and prevailed under strong urging. SALACIOUS showed speed on the inside of two foes, vied along the rail on the first turn, was taken back off the pace late on that bend, moved out inside the three-quarter pole, was rated off the pace, gained to make a bid in the three then two path on the far turn, dueled with the winner in the stretch and missed while well clear for the place. TAPARINO saved ground on the first turn, settled near the back, was urged in the two then three path on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and just got up for the show. COMANCHE PEAK (GB) broke a step slow, raced in the three path on the first turn, settled near the back, was urged while moving from the three path to the five path on the far turn and just missed the show while narrowly able to get the last spot in the superfecta. FIRE BARON broke out and brushed with a foe, raced in the three path on the first turn, settled on the outside, gained leaving the backstretch, made a bid in the four then three path on the turn, dropped back into upper stretch then drifted out before being straightened, chased the leaders into the final furlong and weakened. TRIPLE WORD SCORE was hustled from the gate then taken in hand early, saved ground on the first turn, settled off the pace, moved closer late on the backstretch, chased inside on the far turn, angled out in upper stretch and came up empty. MIGHTY GLORY brushed with a rival at the start, raced in the three path on the first turn, pressed the pace on the outside under urging, came up empty in the two path on the far turn then spun three wide into the stretch and retreated. THIS TIME YES was restless in the gate, dropped back while in tight between foes nearing the first turn, saved ground on that bend, settled towards the rear, was urged along the rail for most of the far turn then shifted to the three path, turned into the stretch in the four path and was no factor.
