OAT COUTOUR was allowed to settle along the inside, continued to save ground to the five sixteenths and began to slowly edge off the inside and came five wide into the lane and closed well to get up late and edge clear to prove best under crop urging. ASKINGFORAFRIEND broke out and bumped a rival at the start, stalked the pace and made a two wide bid nearing the quarter pole and was clear by the furlong marker but could not hold off the winner late and had to settle for being second best. INSPEIGHTOFCHARLIE was well rated along the inside and sat the pocket on the far turn, moved out to be two wide off the bend and then was caught behind foes while in traffic by the furlong marker, tipped out late and ran on willingly. BEFORE THE WIND was reserved early, saved ground on the far turn and cut the corner leaving the bend, angled out nearing the furlong marker to the far outside for racing room and had a good late rally. NEW YORK SCRAPPY was four wide into the first turn, tracked the leaders from the outside and was three wide on the far turn and came four wide off the bend and fought on to the furlong marker but faded in the final furlong. ISLAND CHARLIE showed the way on the inside and was headed by the quarter pole then weakened in the drive. ASTERN COMMAND was squeezed back at the break, then raced on the outside while four to five wide and tired. KAZ OIL CHANGER was settled and three wide on both turns and never threatened. DORMELLO was settled two wide early, shuffled back nearing the five furlong marker and tired. SOLO JIM was fractious in the gate, bumped at the break and chased the pace three to two wide and tired.
