SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS got carried in at the start by FIDELIGHTCAYUT, who broke inwards, tracked the front along the inside through the first turn and then two to three wide down the backstretch, tucked to the two path through the far turn and came under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, angled out seven wide into upper stretch, rallied on the outside into prominence inside the final furlong and seized command seventy yards from the finish then prevailed edging away at the end. CITY MAN raced just off the inside through the first turn and then settled two to three wide in pursuit from just off the pace, came under coaxing three wide nearing the quarter pole, went six wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a sixteenth from home, got caught with seventy yards to the finish and fought on to safely be along for the place honors. JERRY THE NIPPER tossed his head at the start and was away last, came under coaxing and advanced to settle attending the leader from the outside in the two path, remained on hold until set down angled four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive taking command just inside the eighth pole, got collared a sixteenth out and kept on to preserve the show honors. HUSH OF A STORM tracked the pace along the inside and then just off the inside coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, swung four wide into upper stretch and offered up a mild kick. RUSE coaxed from the start, showed the way in hand along the inside coming under urging with five-sixteenths to go, swung three wide into upper stretch, dug in under threat from a trio and was caught just inside the eighth pole, then weakened in the late stages. DAKOTA GOLD struck the near side stall at the start, chased two then three wide coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, angled out six to seven wide into upper stretch and offered no response. LOCKE AND KEY tossed his head at the start and got away near the rear of the field, went just off the inside through the first turn and then chased four wide thereafter, got ridden along with five-sixteenths to go, angled out eight wide at the top of the stretch and had no kick. FIDELIGHTCAYUT broke in at the start carrying in SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS, tracked the pace along the inside, came under coaxing near the three-eighths and faded, cornered just off the inside into upper stretch and weakened through to the finish.
