Footnotes
HATCH showed speed on the inside of rivals, vied along the rail on the turn, responded well under the crop in upper stretch, battled inside of a duo into the final furlong, gained the advantage coming to the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under strong urging. SUPER CHIEF showed speed on the outside, vied in the four then three path on the turn, fought with two foes into the final sixteenth and was outfinished while just able to get the place. UNCLE GEORGE bumped with a rival and was off a half-step slow, moved out then chased the pace on the outside, made a bid in the five then four path on the turn, held a very slim lead from the quarter-pole into the final furlong, battled outside the top two into the final sixteenth and was also outfinished then just missed the place while clear for the show. AIR SHOW moved up then brushed with a foe near the five-eighths pole, dropped in just off the pace around the nine-sixteenths pole, came out leaving the backstretch, was urged along in the three then four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path, remained on his inside lead while pursuing the leaders on the outside in the drive and lacked the needed kick. HONORARY DEGREE bumped with a rival at the start and was off slow, brushed with foes near the five-eighths pole while rushed up, contested the pace between horses, vied in the three then two path on the turn, dropped back into the final furlong then drifted out and weakened. NOLO CONTESTO was off slow then hustled, brushed with an opponent near the five-eighths pole while rushing up, disputed the pace between horses, checked leaving the backstretch, was urged along in the two then three path on the turn, came out a bit into the stretch, chased into the final furlong then drifted out and tired. BRONX BOMBER broke a bit slow, dropped well behind under urging, moved from the three path to the two path early on the turn, angled out in upper stretch and failed to threaten. BOURBON'S HOPE was hustled from the gate then showed speed, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole, fell further back into the turn, went around that bend in the four path and faltered.
