BISHOPS BAY prompted the pace of LIGHT THE WAY from the outside six paths off the rail down the backstretch as the leader raced in the five path, tucked three wide into the turn and advanced on that rival coming under coaxing just outside the quarter pole, continued three wide into upper stretch, seized command near the three-sixteenths, dug in under threat to the inside and repelled that rival to prevail on the wire. NELSON AVENUE chased three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch, tucked to the two path half a mile from home before heading to the inside with seven-sixteenths to go, came under urging at the five-sixteenths, took the inside route into upper stretch, rallied up the inside to issue a challenge through the final furlong but was ultimately rebuffed to the finish in a good effort. SCOTLAND chased seven paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking three wide at the half mile pole, tucked to the two path through the turn coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, angled three to four wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out, then weakened in the late stages while clear for the show honors. LIGHT THE WAY hustled from the gate, showed the way in hand five paths off the rail down the backstretch under some pressure from BISHOPS BAY to the outside, tucked to the two path half a mile from home, came under coaxing three furlongs out under increased pressure, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, yielded the front near the three-sixteenths marker and weakened through to the end. OVER AND OLLIE bobbled at the break, chased five then four paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking inside with half a mile to run, came under urging at the three-eighths pole, angled five wide into upper stretch and tired.
