DAMON'S MOUND raced up close on the outside, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the turn, ranged up to make a bid at the quarter-pole, spun into upper stretch in the five path, fought outside of the runner-up while remaining on his inside lead, gained the advantage inside the furlong marker and prevailed under strong urging while continuing on his inside lead to the finish. BUCCHERINO moved up to get the lead then showed the way, vied inside on the turn, turned into the stretch in the two path, drifted out near the furlong marker, lost the advantage to the winner outside the sixteenth-pole, fought on well to the finish but missed while clear for the place. FULL MOON MADNESS broke a half-step slow, was urged along off the pace, gained in the three then four path on the turn, turned into upper stretch in the six path and lacked the needed kick while able to get the show. SUBROGATE broke a half-step slow, was urged along towards the rear, saved ground on the turn and failed to rally. NUTELLA FELLA was ridden along on the outside, went around the turn in the three then four path and lacked the needed response. BOUNCER broke through the front of the gate prior to the start, was brought back around and reloaded, showed speed then pressed on the outside, vied in the three then two path on the turn and tired. HURRICANE NELSON was well placed just off the pace, came under urging in the two path on the turn, chased into upper stretch and weakened. THE GOLDEN GORILLA broke a step slow, dropped well behind while ridden along, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn and was no factor.
