Footnotes
THIRD COAST four then three wide into the first turn, tucked to the two path nearing midway on that bend and settled attending the leader from the outside through sensible splits, remained patiently handled until called upon just outside the quarter pole, took over narrow command at that station and spun three wide into upper stretch, edged away under a drive to inside the eighth pole and held sway to the finish. CAROLINE ST. BEAT broke on top and then settled tracking the pace along the inside from mid pack, tipped to the two path down the backstretch nearing the far turn, continued just off the inside through that bend patiently handled until set down angled three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive offering up a mild kick to safely garner the place honors. BULL SHOALS coaxed from the gate, established the front and showed the way in hand along the inside through the first turn and then just off the inside into the backstretch, tucked back to be along the inside nine-sixteenths from home, came under coaxing at the three-eighths pole and steadily came under pressure from the outside, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and displaced from command, dug in under a drive running on through to the finish to preserve the show honors on the wire. PRINT saved ground near the rear of the field on hold until let out angling six wide into upper stretch, tipped out an additional path with three-sixteenths to go, closed well outside rivals but too late to impact the top trio. CHAMBERSVILLE raced three then two wide through the first turn, chased three wide coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go, swung three to four wide for home, kept on under a drive to the finish but was outkicked. LENNOX THE GREY tracked from just off pace along the inside and then just off the inside coming under encouragement near the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, offered up a bid, then weakened in the late stages. PROTECT AND DEFEND tossed his head just as the latch was sprung and lunged at the break getting away last and conceding three to four lengths to the front, chased two then three wide coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths marker, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out, then weakened in the late going. VERSAILLES ROAD two to three wide in pursuit from mid pack, came under urging with five-sixteenths remaining, angled five wide into upper stretch, offered no response. HEEERE'S JOHNNY chased along the inside and then just off the inside coming under a ride near the quarter pole, angled seven wide at the top of the stretch, came up empty.
