Footnotes
BODENHEIMER broke well and went to the front, maintained a length or two advantage throughout, responded when roused in the stretch, widened, and held safe to the wire. DR. PERRY slow early to be well off the leaders near the rear of the field, commenced a steady, long drive on the turn, and finished with a late gain along the inside to be up for the place. STABILITY broke in, bumped with LITE RANCHIN KID at the start, took back, then moved to the outside path when clear, was still last into the stretch but found best stride late and got up for the third spot. SAINT CHARLES moved up after being steadied just after the start, moved up to stalk the pace three-wide, did not change to the right lead until mid-stretch, and was nosed out for a minor award. HAY MOON was being coaxed from the break but unable to keep up with the pace early on, chased from the middle of the pack, two-wide and still under a ride, finished willingly but never menaced. PHILO BEDDOE broke well but was not quick enough to go with BODENHEIMER early, chased that one into the stretch from second, then weakened mid-stretch. LITE RANCHIN KID took a bump from STABILITY at the start, then raced mid-pack down the backstretch, saved ground along the final turn, tipped out to the three-path for the stretch run, but could not sustain the bid and was outfinished in the late stages.
