Footnotes
CORRUPTION brushed with an outer rival at the start, moved forward to show the way along the inside, vied with an outer bidder turning for home, repelled that challenge and shook free in upper stretch, then lasted safely late. JOHNY'S FIREBALL stalked along the inside, then from the two path turning for home, pursued in the three path in upper stretch, ran on to claim place passing the sixteenth pole, then held that position gamely from an outer bidder while closing in on the leader late. OSCAR SEASON saved ground pursuing from midpack, shifted out to the four path at the three sixteenths pole, rallied to offer a bid for place in the closing stages, but narrowly missed. ST. ARMANDS KEY pressed two wide, bid around the far turn, vied into the lane, but was turned away to prove no match in upper stretch and yielded. AMERICAN HOPE broke a beat slow, trailed along the inside, then two wide around the far turn, rallied up the rail with a mild kick into midstretch, but flattened out late and was denied fourth. CLYDE'S GOT A GUN broke outwardly and brushed a rival at the start, laid off of the pace along the inside, then in the two path turning for home, chased between horses into midstretch, tipped to the three path while running on into the final sixteenth but needed more to gain fourth. FACTOR ANALYSIS brushed with an inner foe leaving the gate, tracked two wide and between horses, came under urging to chase in the three path around the far turn, moved out to the four path in upper stretch, pursued thereafter and lacked a bid between horses. QUATROCENTO got subtly keen among foes while moving through the lane for the first time, remained keen in midpack and in the three path while between horses around the first turn, fanned out to the six path into the lane but lacked a kick. FUERTEVENTURA settled well back in the three path, shifted out to the five path around the far turn before fanning to the six to seven path into upper stretch, but failed to factor. ZVEREV tracked three wide, then from the four path around the far turn before spinning into upper stretch in the five path, and faded between horses. ENGLISH CHUNNEL pursued from midpack four wide and tired. HAPPY HAPPY DAY (ARG) was brushed by an inner foe and tossed his head at the start, settled off of the pace in the two path, then retreated around the far turn and was outrun thereafter.
