Footnotes
SUTHERLAND tracked along the inside, claimed place from an outer pair while moving out to the three path entering the lane, then gradually closed in on the clear leader to bid in midstretch and drove past in the final furlong. VITEMENT sped clear early on, dictated terms around the bend, but was collared by an outer bidder entering the final furlong and got bested. WESTERN COMMAND broke outwardly, pursued off of the pace in the three path and between horses, ran on to advance inside of foes in upper stretch, bid for show along with an inner rival at the three sixteenths pole and edged that position. ONE FOR MY BROTHER broke multiple lengths slow, raced off of the pace inside of rivals while remaining a path off of the inside around the bend, advanced to bid for show along with an outer rival at the three sixteenths pole, vied for that position through midstretch but got bested. TIVERTON (GB) was off slow, saved ground at the rear, encountered traffic behind rivals in upper stretch, improved while being brushed by an outer rival in midstretch, vied for fifth with that one through the final furlong and narrowly prevailed. MORE THAN FIVE lacked speed in the four to three path into the turn, tucked down two wide in upper stretch, improved inside of rivals while brushing an inner foe in midstretch, vied for fifth thereafter but missed. PENROD pursued from midpack hung four wide, chased while getting floated to the six path into the lane and gave way. CATAMOUNT stalked two wide and between horses, got floated to the four path while chasing into the lane and faded among foes. NOT NORMAL tracked three wide, chased while floating to the five path into the lane and weakened between horses.
