Footnotes
IMPERIAL GUN brushed with an outer foe leaving the gate, tracked along the inside, then from the two path around the turn, tipped inwardly to take rail aim in upper stretch, slipped through in the final furlong to bid at the sixteenth pole and drove past. MAP TO THE STARS stalked in the three path, moved to press outside of the leader along with an outer foe into the turn, bid and forged an advantage while floating to the four path into the lane, held firm from the inner persistent early leader through midstretch but was caught by an inner bidder in the final sixteenth. BOURBON'S FAULT set the pace in the two path, felt pressure from an outer pair into and around the turn, got headed while spinning to the three path entering the lane, fought on well through midstretch, but got outkicked by an inner bidder late and was denied place. DIVE BOMBER stalked in the four path, pressed the top pair around the turn, failed to sustain pressure whlie chasing in the five path into the lane and sustained pursuit evenly. ALSTON broke a step slow and brushed with an inner rival at the start, raced off of the pace in the three to four path around the turn, hung on his left lead until changing over in the six path in midstretch but lacked a bid. OPTICAL shuffled back slightly from between horses early on, lacked speed along the inside, dropped back to lose contact with the rest into the turn, showed little thereafter and was eased through the lane.
