Footnotes
HIGH SOUTH stalked close up along the inside, tipped to the three path to take aim outside of the clear leader in upper stretch, sustained gradual progress to reel that one in at the sixteenth pole and edged past. TAP THE CHAMPAGNE set the pace two wide before moving to the inside around the first turn, shook clear of an outer presser reaching the lane, held sway from an outer pursing HIGH SOUTH through midstretch, but was collared by that one at the sixteenth pole and got bested. SCARLETTA CARPETTA saved ground while pursuing from midpack, claimed show from outer rivals at the three sixteenths pole, shifted out in midstretch with multiple lengths to find on the top pair and stayed on but needed more. UNION ROSE steadied between rivals early on, trailed along the inside, then in the two path around the far turn, shifted out to the seven path in upper stretch and rallied to reach fourth at the sixteenth pole. PLOT broke a step slow before being put to tight quarters between horses at the start, settled well back in the two path, took the far turn in the three path before shifting back down two wide in upper stretch, and moved up approaching the furlong grounds. TWO TURNTABLES brushed with an outer foe at the start, tracked two wide and between horses, but briefly shuffled turning for home, chased in the three path into upper stretch, but lacked a bid and yielded between rivals. WITHOUT A POUT (IRE) settled off of the pace in the three path, fanned out to the six path into the lane, got outkicked and failed to menace. VICTORY WALTZ brushed with an inner rival leaving the gate, raced off of the pace in the two path before tucking to the inside down the backstretch, and failed to factor. HI'IAKA raced keenly while pressing three to two wide around the first turn, but faded while drifting to the four path nearing the lane and weakened between horses. RADIANCE tracked three deep, chased in the five path into the lane, but was awkward to change leads in upper stretch and weakened between horses.
