Footnotes
HORSE OF THE SEA stalked along the inside, took aim outside of the leader into the far turn, turning for home, drove clear in upper stretch, drifted about as SECTION gave chase in the feinal furlong, got collared by that bidder in the closing stages yet held. SECTION tracked three to two wide and between horses around the first turn, crept closer into the far turn, paused behind the top pair entering the lane, tipped outside of them in upper stretch, sustained gradual progress in the final furlong to offer a late bid but missed at the wire. HERBS BOLT laid off of the pace two wide, moved to the four path at the eleven sixteenths pole chased under urging around the far turn then stayed on to move up and reach show late. WESTERN WARRIOR showed the way in the two path, drew clear around the far turn, but was headed by an outer rival entering the lane, caved and lost show late. TISUM laid off of the pace along the inside and made little impact. COACH RUDY stalked four to three wide and tired.
