Footnotes
WENT WEST tossed his head while breaking a step slow, settled off of the pace along the inside, advanced inside of rivals turning for home, progressed in the two to three path in upper stretch, split foes in the four path to take aim outside of the leading pair at the furlong grounds, drove past them at the sixteenth pole and kicked clear. JACKMAN vied three wide and between horses, then just between a pair of foes entering the lane, led narrowly in upper stretch, held as an inner counterpart persisted through midstretch, but was bested by an outer bidder at the sixteenth pole then held place. G T FIVE HUNDRED vied for the lead with a trio of outer rivals around the turn, fought on while headed in upper stretch, battled until getting outkicked by an outer bidder at the sixteenth pole, yielded late yet saved show via a head-bob at the wire. PAYNE broke a step slow, trailed in the two path, spun for home in the five path, rallied with a late kick in the seven path in the final furlong but missed show. PRESIDENT Z laid off of the pace in the four to five path, ran on in the six path to surpass a tiring rival in the final furlong, then got outfinished for minor placings by an outer foe in the closing stages. PRINCIPE CARLO vied for the lead two wide and between horses, gave way turning for home, shifted out to the four path in upper stretch but lacked a re-rally. PRINCIP prompted four deep, vied around the turn, then just three wide into the lane, but drifted to the five path in midstretch and faded between horses leaving the furlong grounds. DIAMOND HEIST chased from midpack in the three to four path and tired. BAYOU COLONEL tracked in the two path, but faded between horses at the three furlong pole and was done early.
