Footnotes
SEAL BAY broke outwardly and was off a step slow, pursued from midpack in the four to two path into the backstretch, progressed while hung five deep rounding the far turn, bid outside of the newly leading CONSEQUENTIAL entering the lane, forged an advantage in midstretch, flopped back to his left lead inside the final furlong, changed back to his right lead in the final sixteenth and inched clear. CONSEQUENTIAL vied along the inside, backed off to stalk entering the backstretch, rebid outside of the leader turning for home, led narrowly as the eventual winner ranged up alongside entering the lane, battled while getting headed in midstretch, fought on well thereafter but was second best. HERBS BOLT bumped with an inner foe early on, led two wide before moving to the inside down the backstretch, but got headed by an outer pair entering the lane and gave way. HOT ICE was bumped between horses and squeezed back early on, raced off of the pace in the three path, chased along the inside around the far turn and lacked a bid. ONE TOUGH ROAD stalked from the four path, chased while getting outkicked by an outer foe turning for home and tired. FEDERAL AGENT bumped with an outer foe early on, pulled forward in the three path and between horses to press outside of the leader entering the backstretch, chased between horses rounding the far turn, steadied while faltering between horses entering the lane, then was eased and taken wide in the final furlong. GOSH SAKES broke slowly, raced at the rear along the inside, was done into the far turn and eased through the lane.
