Footnotes
FORT THOMAS settled well back two wide, then in the three to four path around the far turn before swinging out to the seven path into the lane, rallied outside of rivals to bid leaving the furlong grounds and drove clear late. SICILIAN DEFENSE bumped with an inner rival at the start, set the pace inside of a prompter while a path off of the inside, met outer challenges nearing the lane, sparred between horses in upper stretch, battled gamely through midstretch, but was outkicked by an outer bidder in the final sixteenth and tenaciously prevailed for place. OSCARGOT pressed the leader from the three path, vied between horses entering the lane, dueled gamely among foes before getting outkicked by an outer rival late and missed place. AMBITION broke out and brushed a floated rival at the start, stalked along the inside, took aim inside of the leaders in upper stretch, crept closer to bid at the furlong grounds but needed more. STORM READY was floated into crowded quarters by a inner rival at the start, laid off of the pace in the two to three path, shifted out to the six path into the lane, tipped wider in midstretch and offered a good belated kick to miss a minor placing. FINN MCSORLEY stalked outside of the top pair and from the four path, bid entering the lane, dueled among foes through the final furlong, but was outkicked late and missed a minor placing. STRADIVARIAN pursued from midpack in the four path, offered grinding five wide progress in upper stretch to bid along with an outer rival at the furlong grounds, but got outkicked and flattened out. CLOUDY HOLIDAY pursued from midpack along the inside, shifted out to the three path and between horses in upper stretch, but encountered traffic and lacked a bid. WARP NINE leaned into an outer rival before taking contact from an inner foe at teh start, stalked two wide and between horses, brushed with an outer rival chasing in the four path into upper stretch and lacked a bid. TWO TODDIES IN broke awkwardly, saved ground well back, but to no avail. FREEDOM MAKER was bumped between horses at the start, pursued from midpack in the three path and between horses, brushed with an inner rival while in the five path in upper stretch and faded. GRAND STAN was very rank and hard to handle moving through the lane for the first time, trailed along the inside and got outrun.
