SHAPE NOTE was sent from the gate, dropped in and stalked early, eased out mid turn, closed in four wide leaving the quarter pole, took over under left handed encouragement in mid stretch, could not quite shake free and was fully extended to prove best. NANCY MADE MY DAY was sent outside rivals to take command after about a furlong, dropped in and set a rated pace in the two path, dug in when confronted leaving the far turn, sparred under rating to the quarter pole, spurted clear once set down soon into the lane, ceded command a furlong out but kept on valiantly to the wire. MOWINS settled off the pace and raced three wide leaving the far turn, shifted five wide pursuing into the lane, straightened away and kept on with effort through no match for the top pair. CAPITAL CONQUEST drafted back off the leaders in the opening furlong, was under a ride mid turn, entered the stretch about two wide, angled out but lacked a serious response. BATTLE OF BASTOGNE had speed then rated back between rivals leaving the five eighths, came back on and bid three wide to join NANCY MADE MY DAY leaving the far turn, dueled outside that one to the quarter pole, failed to kick on leaving the three sixteenths and retreated.
