VISCIOUS GOSSIP steadied when a bit green off the pace and saving ground past the five eighths, regrouped and made a sharp run leaving the half, eased out and worked between runners near the quarter pole, tipped out, edged up under confident handling and engaged DRIFTING from her outside in mid stretch, took over with about a sixteenth to go, was merely flashed the crop and held firm. DRIFTING broke outward and was off a beat slow, corrected and was sent up outside rivals in the opening furlong, was guided inward and took over three deep around the far turn, spurted clear to set the pace about two wide, dug in when confronted, dueled and stayed on well to the wire. VALERIE STREET , sluggish from the gate, settled off the pace, angled out mid turn, shifted wider for the drive, closed steadily outside rivals and just nabbed the show. LOST RIVER contested the early pace between foes, steadied inward as DRIFTING was guided inward near the four and a half furlong pole, regrouped to chase inside, eased out in the drive and kept on trying between foes. IRISH B GOODE , three wide early and outside a rival, dropped back mid turn, shifted in for the drive and found more to gain through the final furlong. MOON ROX rushed up early then rated back off the trio of leaders, came back on and chased three wide, failed to kick on near mid stretch and faded. CLARE COURT had speed to dispute the early pace inside rivals, was wrangled back then shuffled when in close into the turn, regrouped then angled out, made a mild four wide advance heading towards the stretch, failed to sustain in mid stretch and weakened. Following a stewards' inquiry into the run leaving the five furlong marker and objection by the rider of LOST RIVER against DRIFTING, DRIFTING was disqualified from second and placed fourth. An objection by the rider of CLARE COURT against DRIFTING alleging interference leaving the five eighths pole was not allowed.
