Footnotes
DIVINE WORKS , forward while saving ground, was put to a hustling ride leaving the three eighths as a duel was going on up top, eased out making some headway approaching the stretch, worked further out past the three sixteenths, leveled off under strong encouragement near the furlong grounds, surged past the embattled leaders with about fifty yards remaining and drew clear . MAERDAMA broke a bit outward and steadied briefly, regrouped and was angled out near the five eighths, rushed up into the turn and drew alongside ANN'S GIRL, sparred through sharp fractions, switched over to her left lead when exchanging contact near the sixteenth pole, kept on with effort and earned the place. ANN'S GIRL broke inward then quickly cleared and secured the inside, was joined by an outer foe leaving the far turn, dueled around the turn to deep stretch, exchanged bumps with an outer MAERDAMA and gave way grudgingly. CYNTHIA GAIL had speed outside a rival and stalked early, was rated back from between horses when MAERDAMA rushed up into the turn, stalked three wide outside the winner past the three eighths, was floated out a bit past the three sixteenths, wandered outward pursuing in deep stretch and faded. GOLD DART hesitated at the break and bobbled, recovered and was guided inward, chased to the inside of a rival mid turn but failed to generate a serious late response. CONTRA steadied at the break, was urged along chasing off the rail, raced outside GOLD DART near the three eighths, failed to kick on nearing the lane and weakened.
