Footnotes
HOPE'S ALIVE moved up from between rivals early and prompted the pace three to two wide, then went up to duel for command outside of THEN WHAT TIME by the half mile marker, made a two wide bid by the quarter pole to gain a short advantage and then was give three right handed pops with the crop inside the furlong grounds while clear to prove best. THEN WHAT TIME set the pace on the inside and then dueled for command on the turn with the winner, could not go with that rival leaving the quarter pole but dug in gamely to win the bob for the place award. LUNAR LIGHTNING tracked the pace from the inside and then was two to three path on the turn, came four wide by the quarter pole and ran on to be slowly gaining late but lost the bob for the place award. SE THAR BARR was reserved early and saved ground on the turn, moved out leaving the furlong marker and had a mild late rally. YANCEY was reserved early and two wide on the turn and was not a threat. RAR chased the pace from the outside, three to four wide on the turn and tired.
