OUTER TURF FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. No nomination fee. $375 to enter and $375 to start. Supplementary nomination of $1,500 (which includes entry and starting fees) may be made at the time of entry. $150,000, with 60% to the owner of the winner, 20% to second, 11% to third, 6% to fourth and 3% to fifth. Weights: Three year olds 122 lbs. Older 126 lbs. Non-winners of a sweepstake since January 1 allowed 2 lbs.; of $45,000 on the turf in 2025, 4 lbs. (maiden, claiming and starter races not considered) . Starters and riders to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. This race will be limited to fourteen (14) starters. In the event more than fourteen entrants pass through the entry box, preference will be given to graded stakes winne rs (in order I-II-III), then graded stakes placed (2nd or 3rd) in 2024-2025, then highest turf earnings in 2024-2025. Any horse excluded due to the aforementioned preference shall be refunded the entry fee and supplementary nomination fee, if applicable. Trophy to the winning owner. WITTY was lightly bumped at the start, unhurriedly brought up the rear from off the rail, fanned nine wide into upper stretch still seeing the entire field, launched a furious rally widest of all to drive past in late stretch. HAD TO HAVE HIM was a little hard to load and a bit fractious in the gate, settled outside a rival toward the back but ahead of the eventual winner, shifted seven wide turning for home, rallied well but was outfinished. STEP FORWARD got away well but ceded the lead to stalk in behind off the fence in the two to three path, shifted five wide into upper stretch, struck the lead in mid-stretch, was outkicked. HORSEPOWER stalked from outside, went three to four wide on the turn, took closer order coming into upper stretch, drifted a bit at that point and bid taking a narrow lead, kept on late but needed more. GOING UP exchanged light contact at the start and was urged forward, pressed from inside before moving to a narrow advantage into the turn, contended inside on or just off the rail, was headed in upper- to mid-stretch, had no extra for late. ISIVUNGUVUNGU (SAF) chased near mid-pack, went mostly three to four wide on the turn, floated six wide into upper stretch, failed tor ally. PETCOFF bumped a rival just lightly, was coaxed forward but lacking significant early speed, chased from inside, saved ground on the turn, lacked the needed late kick. NOTHING BETTER exchanged light contact at the start, was urged to the lead outside, set the very early pace two to three wide then pressed on the turn, faltered in upper stretch and faded.
