PRIME DIRECTIVE set the pace, turned back a challenge from DEAL EM leaving the backstretch, and kicked away. VECTOR was allowed to settle off the pace, shifted out two wide in the final turn, and closed belatedly. HYPERFOCUS stalked three to four wide, and lacked a closing response. DEAL EM prompted the early pace, was unable to get by PRIME DIRECTIVE and gave way. AMERICAN FARMER fanned three wide, chased four to five wide, and was done early.
