Footnotes
CURRENT AFFAIR broke alertly, bothered by outer rival early then settled off the pace, gained the inside, chased along the fence, checked momentarily along the fence nearing the quarter pole, shifted out for room in upper stretch, gathered momentum from outside and was along in time. SUNGLOW (IRE) rushed up from the inside to briefly duel then gain slim advantage, resisted when challenged into the stretch, inched away but could not stave off winner late. HELGA BRANDT (IRE) gained the rail and tracked the dueling duo into the bend, remained inside around the turn, angled three wide exiting the bend, loomed in midstretch but flattened bit in late stages and just held the show. CURTSY chased from the two path into and on the turn, tipped out further into the lane, closed willingly in final sixteenth and just missed third. ROYALLY FROSTED chased from between rivals into the turn, continued two or three wide to the stretch, was further out in upper stretch and did not menace. STRIVER settled inside, was in bit tight along the rail, checked past half-mile marker, shuffled back some, remained inside and never threatened. TWIRLING LIGHT reserved while well off the rail, chased outside foe around the turn, came three wide into the lane and weakened. JUDICIOUS had good early foot, dueled or forced the pace outside eventual runner-up, bid outside same foe leaving the turn, but gave way through the stretch.
