Weights Sunday, July 20. In the event the race overfills, horses with equal weights (adjusted for age) will receive equal draw. The San DiegoH andicap has been selected as a Breeders' Cup Dirt Dozen Bonus Series Race for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile on November 1, 2025 at Del Mar. The nominated winner of the San Diego Handicap will receive a credit of $15,000 toward entry fees for the Breeders' C up Dirt Mile, 2nd place will receive a credit of $7,500 toward entry fees and 3rd place will receive $3,750 credit toward entry fees. A trophy will be presented to the winning owner.

NYSOS took a stalking position along the rail, followed behind MIRAHMADI through the far turn, tipped out at the top of the lane, headed MIRAHMADI at the eighth pole, quickly took over and cleared that rival midstretch under hand urging, then drew away in the final sixteenth and was in hand late. MIRAHMADI took control early and moved inside, got pressure by a pair of rivals early on the backstretch, inched ahead past the half-mile pole, led clear through the far turn, headed by NYSOS with a furlong remaining, yielded to the winner shortly after and stayed on for a clear second. TARANTINO stalked up close in the two path, pressed three deep then outside MIRAHMADI on the backstretch, failed to keep up and gave chase in the two path between rivals on the far turn, then weakened in the final furlong but was able to secure third. HALL OF FAME tracked in the three path then outside a pair of rivals on the first turn, drew closer into the second bend, remained three wide to the stretch, chased within range to midstretch, then flattened in the last sixteenth. EXPRESS TRAIN tracked in the two path then went between rivals, rushed up to pressure from between runners early on the backstretch, lost contact with the top pair at the nine-sixteenths pole, chased two wide into the far turn, tipped four wide around that bend and weakened in the drive. JUDGE MILLER lost his footing badly at the start, trailed three then two wide early, saved ground through the far turn, was eased in the lane and walked off.
