ARROWTHEGREAT stepped to the front, set pressured pace from the inside or two path, maintained cushion into the stretch, drifted out in at eighth from home under left-handed asking, was straightened then drifted out again under one left-handed tap, bumped with ULTIMATE GAMBLE and narrowly held. ULTIMATE GAMBLE bumped at the start by inside rival, forced the pace while outside leader for six furlongs, drifted out bit entering the lane, forced out bit and bumped past sixteenth by ARROWTHEGREAT and could not get past that rival late. LURE HIM IN broke out and bumped rival, tracked top pair from three path, continued three wide to the stretch, also drifted out some in upper stretch then whittled gap on top pair in deep stretch. KATONAH unhurried early, trailed from the inside, saved ground throughout and weakened through the stretch. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS INQUIRY AND CLAIM OF FOUL BY THE RIDER OF ULTIMATE GAMBLE AGAINST ARROWTHEGREAT INVOLVING THE INCIDENT IN THE STRETCH, ARROWTHEGREAT WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED SECOND FOR DRIFTING OUT AND COSTING ULTIMATE GAMBLE A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
