ESSENTIAL NATION raced up close four deep, bumped with inner rival, took aim four then three wide into the stretch, drew alongside the leader under left-handed urging and bested STANFORD DROPOUT late. STANFORD DROPOUT broke out and bumped, pressed the pace from outside, dueled past the five-sixteenths pole, inched ahead in upper stretch, put WAVE WITH ENVY away midstretch but was run down by ESSENTIAL NATION in the end. WAVE WITH ENVY set the pace under pressure from STANFORD DROPOUT early, headed by that rival at the five-sixteenths pole, lost command in upper stretch, yielded to that rival midstretch, weakened late but was able to save third. CLOSING TIME broke a step slow, chased off the rail then between rivals, raced a bit off the rail or two wide on the turn, kept trying down the lane and missed third. COLUMNIST took a bump from inside at the start, lacked early after the contact and moved inside, swung wide late on the bend and improved position. RUMPUS IN PARADISE bobbled leaving the gate, chased from inside, lost ground on the turn, lugged out in upper stretch and weakened. THREE PUTT got bumped between rivals leaving the gate, chased out of range four wide into the turn, moved into the three path for a bit then steered five wide approaching the stretch and weakened. ONE HAPPY DUDE bumped leaving the gate, raced up close three deep and bumped with outer rival early, moved into the two path on the turn, started to weaken and drifted four wide leaving the bend, then faded in the lane.
