HOWIN set the pace under pressure from MADAME SECRETARY to the outside, cleared that rival past the five-sixteenths pole, kicked away into the lane and held safely under a left-handed crop and steady handling. LOLO LE PLUME trailed on the inside early, had one rival beat up the backstretch, advanced from the fence through the far turn, moved into second in upper stretch but was unable to threaten the winner in the late stages. SHARED FUTURE settled two to three wide on the clubhouse turn, asked three, four, then five wide on the second bend and produced a mild rally to earn the show honors. MADAME SECRETARY forced the pace from outside, asked to keep up with HOWIN on the far turn, lost touch with the winner past the five-sixteenths pole, chased two wide into the lane and weakened. EPIONE broke a step slow, stalked a bit off the rail around the clubhouse turn, raced along the rail into the far turn, eased over to the three path around the bend and weakened. CATALINA COCKTAIL broke out, took the first turn three then two wide, trailed up the backstretch, went two wide into the far turn, came four wide into the lane and failed to menace. SUGAR HI stalked the top pair from outside in the three path on the first turn, raced outside EPIONE up the backstretch, dropped back on the far turn while finding the rail, eased in the lane and walked off.
