EMPRESS ELLIE stalked outside a rival, crept closer two wide then three deep on the far turn, challenged from outside entering the final furlong, fought three deep late and proved best. RO TOWN controlled the pace on the inside, pressured a bit late on the far turn, put away that rival, came under threat from EMPRESS ELLIE outside the eighth pole, resisted into deep stretch and yielded grudgingly in the end. CORPORAL VIOLETTE (IRE) stalked the pacesetter from the fence, waited behind the leader while saving ground through the far turn, gained a clear path and launched a rail bid, fought with outer pair into the deep stretch and missed second. DEA MATRONA (FR) traveled along the inside near the back, gained two then three wide on the far turn, tipped out in upper stretch and finished well to round out the superfecta. PORT ELLEN (IRE) was closest in pursuit from the two path early, put in a mild bid from outside late on the far turn, could not sustain the challenged in upper stretch and weakened. ASIAN MATRIARCH raced outside rivals then angled to the inside settling off the pace, followed in range on the far turn but flattened out in the stretch run. ILLHAVEANOTHERKISS pulled early between runners then tucked inside at the back on the first turn, eased over to the two path on the far turn and failed to threaten. ULTIMATE HY settled in the two path toward the rear, raced between rivals past the half-mile pole, angled four wide around the far turn and never got involved. HIGHLANDS raced outside rivals off the pace, went three then two wide around the first turn, traveled three deep into the far turn, tired and moved inward around the bend, eased in the lane and walked off.
