Footnotes
SPEEDY WILSON chased three deep into the turn, drew closer from outside, got floated out past the quarter pole, seized command approaching the eighth pole, drifted in a bit midstretch and drove clear. SHEA BRENNAN stalked the dueling leaders from off the rail, chased two then three wide on the turn, tried to split foes but lacked room while brushing with CHECK'S ON THE WAY inside the eighth pole, altered inward to a clear path and nailed DROP UP for the place honors. DROP UM brushed with inner rival at the start, went up to duel outside LAST CALL ZONDLO for command, put that rival away but had to contend with CHECK'S ON THE WAY with a quarter mile remaining, held a short lead over rivals on both sides coming into the lane, relinquished the lead to the winner with a furlong remaining, stayed well through deep stretch but got edged for second. STYLE CAT stalked the leaders from inside, launched a rail bid when finding enough room at the five-sixteenths pole, vied with outer rival into the lane, fought into the final furlong, then flattened in the late stages. CHECK'S ON THE WAY pressed three deep to the five-sixteenths pole, dueled outside DROP UM late on the bend, drifted into the lane, fought between in upper stretch, brushed with SHEA BRENNAN near the eighth pole and weakened. WESTERN FREEDOM tracked four deep in the early going, came under a ride trailing well off the rail on the turn, spun five wide into the lane and weakened. LAST CALL ZONDLO brushed with outer rival at the start, fought for the lead inside DROP UM to the five-sixteenths pole, weakened between rivals late on the bend and tired in the stretch run.
