CHARLIE FOXTROT forced the early from between foes, moved up while three wide, gained lead late on the turn, continued well off the rail, briefly lost command in upper stretch then fought back and pulled clear in late going. BENEFICIAL tracked pace early from the inside, advanced along the rail, found clear path inside VERACRUZ and grabbed brief lead, continued along the inside but could not match the winner through the lane. SMILING TIZZY stumbled leaving the gate then trailed down the backstretch, saved ground into the stretch and passed tiring rivals. KID DYNASTY chased three wide then two wide on the turn, shifted out five wide exiting the bend, remained on the far outside thru the stretch and did not threaten. MAGIC CONNECTION was forwardly placed early from the outside, continued three wide into and around the turn and weakened a bit in the drive. MUTT DILLIN was widest early, caught four wide into the bend, chased three wide around the turn and also weakened. ABOUT LAST NIGHT chased from between foes early, continued two or three wide and failed to make needed late impact. VERACRUZ rushed up from the inside to gain command, set pace into and early on the turn while bit off the rail, relinquished control nearing quarter marker, gave way readily in the stretch, was eventually eased, crossed the wire then was pulled up and transported via equine ambulance.
