Footnotes
KINGS RIVER KNIGHT was quick to take the lead shifting in, set the pace from just off the rail, was shadowed by a rival into the far turn, kicked clear again in upper stretch, met the challenge of an outside rival in deep stretch and held that one while being kept to task. ALIGATO settled inside mid-pack, moved to the two path around the far turn, tipped out in upper stretch and was put to urging, ranged up alongside the leader's flank looming a major threat in mid- to late-stretch but was held at bay. ANNAN was prominent early then tracked the pacesetter and eventual winner from inside saving ground, kept on in the stretch to secure show honors. TAKES THREE angled in early, saved ground settling toward the back, rode the rail into upper stretch, tipped out at that juncture, finished well to improve position. MR. DISRESPECTFUL stalked the eventual winner two wide, applied pressure on the backstretch, failed to keep up around the far turn, weakened in the stretch. CLOUSEAU settled into stride mid-division outside a foe two to three wide early, took closer order on the far turn coming within range of striking distance four then five wide late on the far turn, came out further for the drive and weakened. BARELY FUNTIONAL settled toward the rear between runners, ran on evenly. COALINGA ROAD broke a bit awkwardly, was entirely devoid of speeding dropping far back off the leaders early, began to pick it up advancing some up the backstretch under some encouragement, saved ground inside and passed a couple tired rivals. MYSTIC SPIRIT settled outside a pair of rivals at the back, continued three deep into the far turn and failed to rally. MISS JO'S CURLIN pursued from inside early, went between rivals on the backstretch, chased two then three wide on the far turn and faded.
