MY LOVE CAROLINE broke out, raced up close off the rail leaving the backstretch, challenged from outside early on the turn, took the lead in upper stretch, dueled inside JASMINA through the final furlong and gamely prevailed. JASMINA broke inward, stalked three deep then outside a rival to the turn, bid three deep entering the lane, fought head to head outside MY LOVE CAROLINE in the furlong grounds and just missed. TAPATIA MIA hustled from the gate, chased between or in the two path into the turn, found the rail around the bend, chased a bit off the fence into the lane, angled out in the drive and rallied to gain the show honors. LIBERATION got squeezed between rivals and clipped heels shortly after the start, trailed up the backstretch, advanced four to five wide on the turn, chased within striking distance into the final furlong and finished evenly late. MUSTANG KNICKY cleared from outside and crossed over, took pressure early on the turn, showed the way with a pair of rivals to the outside entering the lane, lost command in upper stretch and weakened in the late stages. LINO'S ANGEL stalked outside a pair of rivals then ridden along past the half-mile pole, rounded the bend three to four wide, tipped out in the lane and weakened. LADY VICTORIA chased the speed from inside, was getting out into the turn and had to take up near the three-eighths pole, drifted further around the bend and had little left for the stretch. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE MY LOVE CAROLINE, LIBERATION AND JASMINA AT THE START. THE STEWARDS, IN A MAJORITY DECISION, DISQUALIFIED MY LOVE CAROLINE FROM FIRST TO FOURTH FOR BREAKING OUT AND CAUSING LIBERATION TO CLIP HEELS, COSTING HER A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
