Footnotes
FIX IT QUICK tracked near the inside then in the two path around the first turn, continued two wide into the far turn, came under a ride while angling out around the bend, closed in and headed the leader at the sixteenth pole while drifting in slightly, took over shortly after and held over the KEITHING THUNDER late. KEITHING THUNDER stalked off the rail, outside a rival up the backstretch, traveled three wide around the far turn, rallied between, got floated in slightly at the sixteenth pole and kept on gamely to the wire. NON DOMICILE took control early next to the fence, dueled up the backstretch and far turn, inched ahead in upper stretch, clung to a narrow lead at the sixteenth pole and yielded to the top pair. BAZOOKA CHARLIE raced up close in the two path into the first turn, stalked the top pair from inside leaving the backstretch, moved over to the two path under asking on the second bend, chased within striking distance into the last sixteenth but failed to produce a bid. ZAGREUS raced up close three deep into the clubhouse turn then outside the leader leaving the bend, moved up on even terms in the middle stages, dueled through the far turn, fought to midstretch, got put in tight and checked at the sixteenth pole but was already starting to weaken. SUBIC BOY reserved three wide in the early going, crept closer on the backstretch, angled five wide around the far turn and lacked further response. STAR OF DELHI settled off the pace while angling from the four path to the two path early, coaxed along past the half-mile pole, remained two wide to the stretch and failed to menace. MOM SAYS broke a step slow, took the first turn four wide racing toward the back, angled in on the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn and was never a factor. GOODHEARTEDHARRY broke a step slow, trailed from inside, eased on the far turn and down the stretch, then walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT WITH ZAGREUS AND THE TOP THREE FINISHERS AT THE SIXTEENTH POLE. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS THAT ALTHOUGH DID HAVE TO STEADY IN CLOSE QUARTERS, HE WAS ALREADY STARTING TO WEAKEN AT THAT POINT AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
