DESERT GATE fought outside PUNTO FORTY for command, inched ahead at the quarter pole, put that rival away shortly after, drew off under light coaxing in upper stretch, then widened on his own through the final furlong in an easy victory. PAVLOVIAN stalked the top pair outside a pair of rivals, got floated to the five path late on the turn, chased outside BRIGANTE in the lane and edged that rival for second. BRIGANTE coaxed along early chasing inside a pair of rivals, angled out with a quarter mile left to run, came three wide into the stretch and got outkicked for the place honors. PUNTO FORTY held a narrow lead early dueling inside DESERT GATE, lost command midway around the turn, could not keep up with the winner past the quarter pole and faded down the lane. ST PETERSBURG stalked the dueling leaders from between rivals, got floated out to the four path late on the turn, raced greenly midstretch and weakened.
