BALBOA bobbled a bit leaving the gate but still came away quickly, went up to take a narrow lead inside a pair of rivals, moved clear past the five-sixteenths pole under some coaxing, opened up under hand urging into the stretch, then widened through the final furlong and was in hand approaching the wire. HUBER challenged three deep to the turn, could not keep up with BALBOA midway around the bend, chased three then two wide into the lane and kept on for a clear second. PARKER'S CANDY tracked the top trio from inside, came under a ride on the turn, tipped out at the quarter pole, weakened in the drive but was able to secure the show honors. NOBLE TESTAMENT chased the leading trio outside PARKER'S CANDY, took the turn three then four wide and weakened in the lane. A. P. AGAIN vied between rivals to the five-sixteenths pole, could not kick on with the winner past that marker, angled to the rail with a quarter mile remaining and tired in the stretch run.
