Footnotes
SEPTEMBERSIXTYFOUR stalked off the rail then angled to the inside, tipped two wide around the bend, drew alongside RENO into the stretch, put a head in front at the eighth pole and kicked clear. RENO took control from inside, led through the turn unchallenged, confronted by the winner exiting the bend, lost command with a furlong remaining and stayed on to hold second. BURNING RUBBER broke well, pursued the leader from off the rail, chased two then three wide around the bend, lacked a bid in the stretch run and held third. DOC BOVIE hopped a bit and came away slow, settled off the pace and moved inside, came out in upper stretch and failed to respond. GANDALF also hopped slightly and was off slow in the beginning, moved to the inside tracking the top trio, shifted to the two path early on the turn before returning to the rail while drawing closer around the bend, then flattened out in the drive. SPRINGS came away the slowest of the poor breaking trio, trailed up the backstretch, traveled outside a rival on the turn, got floated out in upper stretch and failed to menace.
