DISCREPANCY followed in range while steering to the inside, crept closer around the turn, paused momentarily behind the top pair entering the lane, found space and challenged between in upper stretch, took the lead midstretch and edged clear. PUTT FOR DOUGH gave chased from off the pace inside a pair of rivals, tipped three wide into the lane and brushed OUTER SUNSET, finished well through the final furlong and gained second. OUTER SUNSET broke a step slow, settled outside a pair of runners, exited the bend in the four path, took some contact from PUTT FOR DOUGH at the top of the lane, rallied four deep into the last sixteenth and gained third. ROMAN EMPRESS showed early foot and pursued the lone leader from off the rail, was closest in pursuit from the two path around the bend, drew alongside UNWRITTEN CODE entering the stretch, took over shortly after, lost command midstretch and flattened late to lose the place and show. SHANGHAI SUNRISE broke well then dropped back to last, took the turn three then four wide, moved out in the drive and passed tired rivals. I'M A RISQUE GIRL sat off the pace between rivals, lacked room behind a runner midway around the bend, cut to the inside, tipped out at the eighth pole and failed to rally. MISTY DANCER coaxed along chasing outside a rival up the backstretch, lost positions two then three wide on the turn and faded. UNWRITTEN CODE sprinted clear to set the tone, saved ground on the turn and came under a ride with a quarter mile remaining, came under threat from ROMAN EMPRESS entering the stretch, yielded shortly after and gave way.
