Footnotes
SPYCATCHER vied four deep leaving the chute then took a stalking position off the rail, dueled outside CROSBY BEACH up the backstretch, cleared that rival with a quarter mile left to run, met the bid from KANSAS CAT (ARG) with a furlong remaining and held gamely. KANSAS CAT (ARG) showed early speed five deep in the chute, dropped back a bit to stalk in the three path, drew closer and took aim two wide on the far turn, drew alongside SPYCATCHER at the eighth pole, fought gamely to the wire but could not get by. YACOWLEF (IRE) showed early speed then ceded command first time in the stretch, stalked along the inside then shifted to the two path and went between runners on the far turn, cut back inside turning for home, launched a bid inside the top pair and could not summon the needed late kick. HOTROCKET (IRE) broke a step slow and got crowded in the beginning, laid off the pace on the inside, chased inside rivals into the far turn, tipped two wide late on that bend, finished willingly under left then right handed urging but needed to find more late. THE RABBI stalked from inside, moved off the fence and started to pull first time through the stretch, raced in the two path between runners, spun three wide into the lane and lacked a bid. RIMPROTECTOR broke a step slow, trailed two wide then moved inside, continued next to the fence into the far turn, eased to the three path around the bend, steered out at the top of the lane and failed to menace. AH JEEZ tracked outside a rival then started to pull and had to steady into the first turn, traveled three deep to the far turn, came four wide into the stretch, tired in the lane and was transported off the track via equine ambulance. CROSBY BEACH vied three deep between rivals then took control and moved inside, dueled with outer rival up the backstretch, fought to the five-sixteenths pole, yielded to the leader with a quarter mile remaining, eased in the lane and walked off.
