ONE SMOKIN DUDE chased the lone speed inside MR. MACHUPICCHU early on, ridden along the fence around the bend, rallied up the inside and outkicked MR. MACHUPICCHU in the last sixteenth. MR. MACHUPICCHU stalked the speed outside ONE SMOKIN DUDE, drew alongside that rival turning for home, put a head in front briefly midstretch but got outkicked by ONE SMOKIN DUDE in deep stretch. CULTURAL sped clear and showed the way up the backstretch, led along the inside through the turn, challenged from outside entering the lane, resisted to the eighth pole, then weakened between the top pair in deep stretch. TEE N OFF trailed two wide into the turn, moved to the rail and passed a pair of rivals, angled back out and came three wide into the stretch, showed late run down the lane but could not get by CULTURAL for third. CHASING RAIN broke a step slow on the outside, raced outside a rival in the second flight, took the turn four to five wide and proved no menace. MAGIC CONNECTION also broke a step slow, chased from off the pace three wide into the turn, came four wide into the lane and never threatened.
