TEMPUS VOLAT dueled for the lead from inside into the first turn, ceded command around the bend, stalked up the backstretch along the rail, drafted behind the leader on the far turn, tipped out at the top of the lane, drew alongside FRIENDLY CONFINES at the eighth pole and proved best in the last sixteenth. FRIENDLY CONFINES dueled from outside into the first turn then cleared inner rival and moved to the rail, set all the pace unchallenged to the stretch, confronted by TEMPUS VOLAT at the eighth pole, was outfinished in deep stretch and managed to hold on for second. LYLE THE CROCODILE (IRE) tucked inside at the back, trailed to the far turn, waited in the two path at the quarter pole, angled out into the lane, closed well in the final furlong and just missed the place honors. HIDING IN HONDURAS raced keenly early between rivals, got pinballed early on the clubhouse turn, settled off the pace on the inside, followed in range on the second turn, kept on down the lane but needed to find more. BODI ZAFA tracked inside rivals into the first turn, bumped twice and steadied around the bend, raced near the back in the middle stages, asked two, three, then four wide on the far turn and failed to rally. MESCALERO stalked four then three deep early, was closest in pursuit of the pacesetter up the backstretch, was ridden along in the two path approaching the quarter pole and faded in the furlong grounds. GEOMETRY stalked three deep into the first turn then got bumped twice early on the bend, traveled outside a rival up the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the two path and weakened.
