NOTABLE SPEECH (GB) settled in hand saving ground, ranged into striking distance through the second turn, got through entering the stretch, slipped through inside the furlong marker, finished with a surge and kicked clear. FORMIDABLE MAN settled in hand, moved up four wide on the second turn, bumped with QIRAL (GB) leaving the five-sixteenths marker, shook off that one and continued on well into the stretch, loomed large and kept on but was unable to match strides the the winner. THE LION IN WINTER (IRE) attended the pace along the inside, shifted out leaving the second turn, offered a bold bid and churned on through the drive but grudgingly gave in. RHETORICAL was forwardly placed three deep, forged command leaving the second turn, edged clear nearing the furlong marker off of the inside, but weakened slightly in the final yards and succumbed. SAHLAN (IRE) settled between horses, advanced through traffic leaving the turn and into the lane, quickened late but found his best stride too late. ARGINE (JPN) settled saving ground, got through entering the stretch, shifted out and made a belated improvement between rivals. GAS ME UP was allowed to settle came under a ride with three furlongs to run, moved up four wide to make a mild bid, but failed to sustain the drive. JOHANNES was put in tight into the first turn, settled between rivals, took closer order through the second turn, lacked room and altered out bumping JONQUIL (GB) nearing the quarter pole, was within reach entering the stretch but failed to sustain the drive. JONQUIL (GB) was allowed to settle, moved up four wide, was bumped and forced wider nearing the quarter pole and came up empty thereafter. PROGRAM TRADING (GB) was jostled at the start, settled saving ground, got through entering the stretch, was blocked and steadied near the furlong marker and lost his best chance. GRAN ORIENTE (CHI) got bumped around at the start, was unhurried after, went two wide through the second turn, angled out into lane, but passed only the tiring ones. QIRAT (GB) was close up outside, weakened between horses on the second turn, bumped with FORMIDABLE MAN leaving the five-sixteenths pole and came up empty thereafter. ONE STRIPE (SAF) opened clear to dictate terms, was collared on the second turn, and gave way readily once headed entering the stretch.
